Hello everyone! As pancake day is tomorrow, I thought it would be a perfect time to share my favourite pancake recipe with you! I love pancakes and they're one of the few desserts that I can make flawlessly. I decided to share with you this American pancake recipe by Jamie Oliver, who is one of my favourite chefs. I've always been more of a crêpe type of gal but ever since I tried these gorgeous fluffy pancakes, I've not used any other recipe.
It's a super easy recipe so honestly, just try it guys!
Serves 4:
Ingredients:
- 3 large eggs
- 115g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 140ml milk
- a pinch of salt
Step 1:
Separate the eggs - put the whites into one bowl and the yolks in another.
Step 2:
Add the flour, baking powder and milk to the yolks. Mix the ingredients until the batter is smooth.
Step 3:
Add a pinch of salt to the egg whites. Whisk until they form stiff peaks.
Step 4:
Fold the whisked egg whites into the batter.
Step 5:
Heat a non-stick pan (make sure it's on medium heat, if you heat it at a higher temperature your pancakes might get burnt!). Pour some batter onto the frying pan and fry for a few minutes until the pancake looks firm and golden. Flip the pancake over using a spatula (or just using the frying pan if you can do that, I unfortunately can't).
Repeat this step until you ran out of batter.
Step 6:
Use any toppings of your preference and tuck in!
Tip: Since this recipe serves 4, I recommend doubling or even tripling the recipe if you've got more family members (or if you just fancy eating a lot of pancakes).
Let me know if you try this recipe!
Lots of Love,
Sylwia
