Hannah is a manager for a group of accountants and is on course to be promoted to a director. She comes home from a business trip only to discover that her boyfriend has disappeared. His belongings are gone and have been replaced with her old ones, it's like he never even existed. His photos, emails and texts to her have all been deleted. As she is searching for him, she realises that someone is also watching her.

Hey there! I finished reading Gone Without A Trace last night and I couldn't wait to share my thoughts on it with you! I've already told my friends and family they need to read this book and I don't see how I can stop recommending it! I read the book in the space of two days and I have no idea how I managed to find the time but putting this book down was a struggle!

I saw some mixed reviews of Gone Without A Trace before I read it so I was a bit hesitant as to liking it but wow was I proved wrong! I honestly have nothing bad to say about this book except for a few minor things - the timeline of the story was a bit confusing for me, I would suggest putting dates to make it a bit easier. Also, at some points the writing is over descriptive and repetitive however you realise that actually it makes sense once you get to know the personality of the main character, Hannah. The chapters were short which made for easy reading and the story just flowed.

I think Hannah is the most frustrating character I've ever met (well I didn't exactly meet her haha). On one hand, I want to shake Hannah and tell her to wake up to reality and move on; but then on the other hand, I understand how her boyfriend's disappearance shook her up so I sympathise with her. Don't even get me started on Katie! How can one be so sweet yet so unlikeable? Torjussen seems to have really planned the characters, even though they're not the most likeable, they are still complex and brilliant.

I had so many emotions while reading this book. When the moment comes and we find out what happens, I honestly wanted to hit myself with the book! I asked myself how I could be so naive. It's hard to talk about it with no spoilers. Let's just say, never trust a first-person narrative! I had my doubts but I didn't really expect the ending. The epilogue was great and was a pleasant final touch.

I give this book a rating of five stars because I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. The writing, the characters, the story - everything was just fantastic! I was gripped from the very first page and taken on an emotional rollercoaster. This book will with no doubt be on my 'Favourite Reads of The Year' list.

Rating: 5/5
